The Alzheimer's Therapeutic Research Institute (ATRI) coordinates some of the world's most critical clinical trials for Alzheimer's Disease. But there was a gap: brilliant scientists conducting groundbreaking research, with no clear way to share their discoveries with the people who needed to hear them most. They needed a strategic partner to help translate their dense research into clear narratives for the average audience.
The new home of AD research
I reimagined ATRI's digital home from the ground up, designing an intuitive experience that welcomed visitors into the world of Alzheimer's research rather than overwhelming them. Streamlined navigation, updated messaging frameworks, and new photoshoots helped clarify their mission and their work, highlight their team, and bring attention to the breadth of research they did across the spectrum of the disease - from early detection to end of life care.
Making research publications accessible
Once the new site was ready, it was time to populate it.
I designed a content framework where research papers were transformed into user-friendly blogs that then broke down into compelling infographics and bite-sized social posts, making scientific principles and stories accessible to patients, families, and advocates who want to learn more about the current understanding of AD and AD research.
Bringing the science and scientists to life
Along with the written content, I created 2 types of videos for their new resource library. First, animated explainers that brought invisible concepts to life, such as showing how Alzheimer's progresses in the brain and demystifying the clinical trial process. Second, intimate interview pieces that revealed the human side of research, highlighting the brilliant team of scientists and researchers at work on this complicated disease, and capturing how ATRI brings together diverse scientific minds united by a single mission.
The result was more than elevated visibility—it was a framework that would continue on and allow ATRI to take laboratory breakthroughs and scientific understanding and turn them into clear and engaging content across multiple channels, meeting their audience and connecting with them in a way they never could before.
